Tokyo by Food is a single platform for information on food events for foreigners in Tokyo. Whether they’re looking for a particular food event, located in the proximity of sightseeing spots, or just simply a unique and memorable dining experience, we’ve got everything covered. We help foreigners to make their Tokyo visit “The most delicious trip ever!”.

We also give our best to become a socially responsible platform. By exploring one of the most exciting dining destinations with us, our guests will also be touching a child’s life. We believe all children deserve a better life. Since our platform is about food, we feel responsible for people who are struggling with starvation somewhere around the World especially children. Therefore we decided to partner with Aynsoupkitchen and started “Food for Happiness Project”. In this project, for each person who participates in a food event on Tokyo by Food platform, we make a donation enough to feed 10 children in Cambodia on your behalf.

About the position:

We are currently expanding our business into other cities in Japan and creating Japan by Food platform. The Event Acquisition Specialist will be the key person to help us to increase the number of events available on our platform. It will be his/her duty to manage the whole process from searching vendors prospects to supporting them after publishing their events on the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently identify and acquire new vendors, in addition to supporting the present vendors
  • Provide guidance to vendors prospects throughout the acquisition process including agreements, account creation, listing events on the platform
  • Creating sales materials and vendor newsletters
  • Contacting vendors to confirm the quality of the events
  • Maintaining good relations with vendors
  • Helping vendors to solve their problems related to the platform and bookings
  • Creating weekly and monthly acquisition reports

Requirements:

  • Experience in B2B sales
  • Good knowledge of Japanese food and food events in Japan
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • An outgoing, focused and organized person with a strong will to succeed
  • Able to respond quickly and think both strategically and tactically
  • Having an entrepreneur spirit
  • Creative thinker with the ability to multi-task
  • Native Japanese or have a fluent level of the language
  • Very fluent in English
  • University degree, MBA preferred
